About Me
I recently completed my PhD in forest science at Michigan Technological University. My research was on the implementation of a program to propagate beech bark disease-resistant American beech through grafting. I am currently working as a post doctoral researcher implementing the placement of these resistant trees in forest understory and creation of beech seed orchards. I am broadly interested in restoring and protecting trees vulnerable to disease and pests. I am interested in the effective application of various restoration techniques.
I enjoy creating art through drawing and painting. I like to apply my drawing to my love of plants and insects, and have developed a series of sketches of trees and insects I’ve learned to identify, and am developing line drawings of common pest insects and plants.
